Behind the Scenes of What's Been Going on at Clever Software Group

It’s Spring! A lot has changed over the past year, but the trees are beginning to fill with blossom again and there’s a waft of post-lockdown in the air. The start of 2021 has been a very exciting time for us at Clever Software Group; so here’s a little overview of what’s been taking place behind the scenes:

Back to the Office

Having spent a couple of months working from home, in accordance with government guidelines, we have finally recently returned to the office! It is so wonderful to have the team back together again under one roof. Of course, we have been able to check in with each other virtually whilst working from home, but nothing beats catching up in person over a coffee and a couple of biscuits. Everyone within the team has remained on top form throughout lockdown; their hard graft and unbeatable work ethics have allowed Clever Software Group to move in a fantastic direction. A massive thank you for all of your hard work throughout this unprecedented time (has that phrase gotten old yet?) – you are all absolutely amazing!

Being mindful that we are not quite out of the proverbial woods yet, our office has had a rearrange to ensure social distancing is still possible. There is plenty of space between each member of the team and we have implemented Perspex screens between the desks, to make sure everyone can remain as safe as possible. With the addition of a few new faces to the company (more on that later), the new layout has been adapted to accommodate our rapidly growing team and allows a fresh, open space to work in. Luckily, the office plants have thrived during our time out of the office, thanks to Managing Director Andrew’s meticulous watering!

We have also had a fantastic glass manifestation installed by Multi-Signs, a local company based just up the road from us in Ringwood. It’s a wonderful addition to the office and has gotten us thinking about what changes we can make to the space next.

New Arrivals

We have had a few newcomers to the team! We have been able to expand our headcount over the past couple of months and have been very fortunate to take on 4 more roles. Gemma, our Digital Marketing Executive, joined us at the beginning of January, so is practically part of the furniture now. She has finally been able to meet the team in person, after starting her role from home. Our bespoke software development team has also undergone an expansion, with the addition of 3 new developers. Leigh joined as a Junior Software Developer a few weeks ago and is already making waves. We are excited to welcome James and Andrew to the software development team, after the Easter break – we’ll make sure we save some Easter eggs for them!

All we need now is for beer gardens to open up, so we can all have a few well deserved beverages and celebrate a successful first quarter of 2021. The first few months have really set the tone for the remainder of the year and we cannot wait to see what comes our way. Imagine, drinks in the sunshine after work! What a blissful thought. The additional developers that have joined the Clever Software team will not only add a great amount of value and expertise to the current development projects taking place, but will be huge, invaluable assets to have onboard for future projects in the pipeline.

We would also like to say a massive congratulations to Ollie, our Senior Software Developer, who welcomed his baby girl into the world, earlier this week. Congratulations Ollie! We’re all over the moon for you and cannot wait to meet her.

Looking Forward

As we move into the warmer months and the smell of BBQs and possibility of no more lockdown restrictions start to circulate the air, we cannot wait to see what the rest of 2021 holds for us.
